Role Overview:

As an Index Platform Developer, you will play a key role in transforming our platform from traditional on-premises RDBMS and .NET/Java technologies to a modern, cloud-native architecture. This involves building serverless Python-based applications, developing API-driven workloads, and deploying scalable solutions in AWS. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to modernize Nasdaq’s core index services and deliver high-impact, resilient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable backend services using Python in AWS.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs using serverless technologies for secure and efficient data exchange.
  • Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and developers to migrate legacy systems to cloud-native solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation for system architecture, interfaces, and workflows.

Key Technical Skills:

Python, AWS Serverless Computing, RESTful APIs, Relational Databases, NoSQL Databases, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD, DevOps, C#, Java, .NET

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development, preferably in financial services or enterprise platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and AWS serverless computing.
  • Experience developing Python applications and APIs.
  • Ability to write queries against both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
